Criminal Investigation Division (CID)

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is staffed by six detectives, a forensic analyst, a sergeant, and a lieutenant.  CID works hand-in-hand with the great men and women of the patrol division to combat and solve crimes.  While CID can be called upon to investigate or assist with a multitude of crimes, the division is primarily responsible for the following investigations:

  • Sexual Assaults of Children
  • Aggravated Sexual Assaults of Children
  • Indecency with a Child
  • Online Solicitation of Minors
  • Possession and/or Promotion of Child Pornography
  • Injury/Abuse of Children
  • High-technology Related Offenses
  • Robberies

The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office is a proud affiliate of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (HMICAC). HMICAC is one of 61 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces across the nation. These task forces operate in a highly coordinated effort to combat the online victimization of children. We are honored that the commander of the HMICAC Task Force is Lieutenant John Colburn of the Houston Police Department. We are equally proud of our affiliation with the numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as well as the children’s advocacy center Children’s Safe Harbor and Child Protective Services.

CID staffs two detectives at Children’s Safe Harbor where they investigate crimes against children in The Woodlands using a victim-centric, multi-disciplinary approach.
